If there is anything I love more in this world than cats, it’s unique bookstores! Nothing beats a good old browse around a bookstore and, what with the shops closed due to lockdown, online shopping just isn’t the same. Believe me when I say, I am absolutely desperate to visit bookstores again!
So, with that being said, here a five unique bookstores I have recently discovered online that I am super eager to visit post-lockdown!
Barter Books UK
What really makes a bookstore unique is the quirkiness of the place, so Barter Books is the perfect store to add to this list. This gorgeous bookstore is actually located in a restored train station, making it the most amazing place for bookworms to visit and also take a sneaky little photo outside! I am desperate to visit this quaint little shop in order to find all of the hidden treasures within!
Mr B’s Emporium Bookshop
Mr B’s Emporium really stands out because they offer a reading spa experience, which just sounds heavenly. This sit-down experience costs only £80, allowing you to chat with an experienced bookseller about all of the books you love. You then receive a big old pile of books selected for you, plus other bookish merchandise. That’s not all though, you also get tea and cake!
Pages of Hackney
What I find really unique about this place is each bookseller shares what books they love, as they each have individual pages on the website which I just love! One of the best things about bookstores is the lovely chats you can have with the sellers. This unique bookstore also has a basement dedicated to second-hand books! Love it!
Golden Hare Books
It’s not as though I needed another reason to visit Edinburgh, but this adorable little bookshop is definitely making me more excited for my visit. I absolutely adore the look of this shop as the exterior is perfect for Instagram photos! They have a wide variety of books, the most wonderful place for all book lovers to visit.
Browers Bookshop
Tucked away in beautiful Wales, this bookstore is the perfect place for book lovers to explore. I absolutely love the bright red paint of the exterior, it will be the best place to visit at Christmas! This unique little bookstore has also won window display competitions! This really isn’t surprising considering how beautiful the store is!
Have any of you visited any of these unique bookstores? If so, what did you think? I am conscious I might have missed a few big ones, so please let me know if there are any I should add to my list!
